A new health centre and changes to a fancy restaurant are in this week’s roundup of planning applications and decisions at Bracknell Forest and Wokingham Borough councils.

Bracknell Forest: new health centre (24/00249/FUL)
A town centre GP surgery could get a brand new extension, plans submitted to Bracknell Forest Council have revealed.
The Frimley NHS Integrated Care Board wants permission to build a new health centre at Skimped Hill on High Street in Bracknell town centre.
Plans say the new three storey building will be built next to the existing Skimped Hill Health Centre, which will become used for mostly administrative purposes.
The new centre will house consultant, treatment and interview rooms, and a phlebotomy room – a place where blood is taken. Parking at the site will remain unchanged.
Bracknell Forest: padel court (24/00202/FUL)
Workers at a town centre office could get a gym and padel court if plans submitted to Bracknell Forest Council are approved.
Property developer Savills wants permission to build the gym and court as part of a refurbishment of 3 Arlington Square in Bracknell town centre.
Savills says the plans are meant to match ‘modern working behaviours and the growing emphasis on employee wellbeing.’
It adds that they will not be open to the public, but will be ‘solely provided for the use of employees at the site.’ It says this will ‘enhance the wellbeing of employees at the premises.’
Bracknell Forest: Globe House (24/00106/FUL)
An industrial unit attached to the building where IT giant Fujitsu has its UK headquarters is to be refurbished.
The unit – at Globe House on Willoughby Road – has been given planning permission for the refurbishment which includes replacing windows, external doors and shutters. Solar panels can also be build on the roof, Bracknell Forest Council planning officers have agreed.
Wokingham Borough: L’Ortolan (233190)
Owners of L’Ortolan restaurant in Shinfield have permission to turn the building into a house.
A company called Newfee Limited applied to Wokingham Borough Council for permission to use the existing buildings for one residential dwelling in December last year.
Council planning officers approved the application on April 26. But they said the permission would expire if work does not take place within three years.
L’Ortolan owner Peter Newman told the press in December last year that the restaurant has no plans to cease trading.
