A 23-year-old who was caught driving while under the influence has been banned from driving for almost two years.

James Richards, of Wokingham Road, Earley, was stopped in Addington Road, Reading, on January 21 this year.

He was breathalysed, and was found to have 88 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath.

He appeared before Reading Magistrates' Court on February 21.

There, magistrates disqualified Richards from driving for 20 months.

This will be reduced by 20 weeks upon the completion of an accredited course.

In addition, he has been fined £500, and ordered to pay a £200 victim surcharge.

He must also pay £85 in court costs.
