Councillor Sally Gurney was delighted to join the team at Mathnasium of Wokingham for their soft opening on Saturday March 23.

For those that haven't heard of Mathnasium, they can be found in Charwood Road, just behind the Bean Oak Road parade of shops, and they welcome students from year 1 right up to those studying for their GCSEs, to support them further in their mathematics skills.

A spokesperson for Mathnasium has described the company as "Where children are empowered to achieve excellence in maths.

"We encourage students to build a strong mathematics foundation through customised maths tutoring plans and face-to-face instruction, in centre or online."

For decades the Mathnasium Method has transformed the way children learn maths.

They build a foundation for maths mastery through deep understanding by starting with what they already know, addressing any learning gaps, expanding their mathematical thinking, and adding new concepts in sequence.

This proprietary method works for students of all ages and skill levels, whether they’re struggling in maths, doing okay but could be doing better, or are already excelling but need more of a challenge.

When children see what they can achieve because of their proficiency in maths, it can alter the course of their entire lives.

Private tutors are great for helping with homework, but they don’t have a curriculum that focuses on foundational understanding.

Mathnasium delivers the same personal connection as private tutors with the effectiveness of a comprehensive curriculum and method.
