Pride will be coming to Bracknell for the first time this weekend.

Set to be held on Saturday, June 10, the celebration will see people coming together to celebrate LGBTQ+ history month.

The month marks how far LGBTQ+ rights have come and what more needs to change.

Together Bracknell Forest Council and The Lexicon have been working with local community groups to help arrange a fun-filled family-friendly event.

Organisers boast that there will be 'artists, stalls and much, much more', with local celebrity and actor Brad Clapson hosting performers on the main stage throughout the day.

Acts and performances will start at 12pm and finish at 7pm with talent from Artemis College, singer Steph Willis, BARTA Theatre Academy, musical Kinky Boots and local musician Abi Powell.

People can expect bright colours, creative costumes and flags as groups move through the town.

Cllr Mary Temperton, Leader of Bracknell Forest Council, said: “I’m delighted that Bracknell Forest will be hosting its first-ever Pride festival. I hope as many people as possible come along and take part in this celebration of love, friendship, and unity.

“The event will bring together a range of free family activities and entertainment that reflects and celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community. It will also have a wealth of advice and support available for anyone who has questions or needs more support."

The event attracts hundreds of thousands across the country, with neighbouring events taking place in Reading, Wokingham and Newbury.
