I am sure many of you remember the five delightful Seedling Sprites that made their debut with the Bracknell Forest Giants over the summer.

Well, if your children or grandchildren are looking for activities to do this half-term, pop over to Princess Square in the town centre, where they will be able to create their very own piece of art with the Seedling Sprites looking on! They can choose to make their own Seedling Sprite from natural materials, including pine cones and twigs, or create a colouring masterpiece to take away.

The Seedling Sprite Studio is open until Sunday, 30 October from 11am until 4pm. There are dedicated SEND sessions too, at 11am on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday this week. Booking in advance is essential on The Lexicon website. Tickets cost £2 and each child will take home a mini goody bag containing a pop-badge and bookmark, as well as their own creation.

This half-term is also a great time to take advantage of the wonderful libraries we have in the borough. Many are having special one-off events for children this week, including ‘spooky crafts’ for Halloween. Visit our libraries webpages for details of dates and times. And remember, our libraries offer events and activities for all ages throughout the year. There are regular adult book clubs, knit and natter groups, boardgames sessions or times to bring in your own crafts to work on while chatting with others in the local community. Check with your local library to see what is on offer for you.

Bracknell Forest has a range of events and activities taking place at different locations across the borough. Please follow Discover Bracknell Forest on Facebook or Instagram, for news of local events for all ages and interests. In the lead up to Christmas, there will be more events added so check there first for the latest updates!

For those on half-term, I wish you a fun week. But at the very least, I hope that everyone has a chance to visit one of our beautiful parks to enjoy some fresh air and autumn colours.
