Over the past week, many arrangements were made both locally and nationally following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

It has been a time of sadness across the nation, however, it has also prompted us to look back on happy memories of Her Majesty The Queen, including the many occasions over the years where she visited our borough.

The council, along with many local places of worship, provided residents the chance to add their thoughts and wishes in Books of Condolence and the opportunity to lay a floral tribute for The Queen.

Community events that took place over the past ten days included the live screening of The State Funeral in Bond Square. Residents were able to witness and reflect on this historic occasion collectively as a community.

As we now move forward following the national period of mourning, there may be some of you that have been reminded of your own personal losses. For anyone that needs additional support, even if it is just to chat to someone or attend a coffee morning, please refer to the mental health and wellbeing pages of our website. There are many services, organisations and groups that can offer support and guidance to children and adults, whatever the circumstance.

Please do take care and try to make some time for yourself over the next week.
