More applications for new developments across the area have been submitted this week.  

In Bracknell Forest, an application was submitted which proposes the erection of a side extension and interior conversion to a property in Crowthorne, whilst Horseshoe Lake had a proposal approved to erect a building to be used for changing rooms and replacement decking. 

Meanwhile in Wokingham, an application has been submitted by a veterinary clinic to develop an end of life/care room, as well as the development of a 56 bed care home and demolition of the existing buildings.

Side extension and interior conversion proposal in Crowthorne (22/00151/FUL) 

Bracknell News:

A plan was submitted by the owners of 153 Dukes Ride in Crowthorne to build a first-floor side extension over an existing single storey side extension. The property is a two-storey dwelling situated on a large, wide plot. 

The applicant is seeking to erect a new first-floor side extension, as well as converting the existing hall and ground floor bedroom to a garage.

The property is situated opposite a commercial shopping parade and adjacent to five detached residential houses. 

The proposal is a resubmission after the original plan was rejected due to the original designs being deemed out of scale and proportion with the original house.  

New changing rooms and decking at Horseshoe Lake (21/01070/FUL) 

Bracknell News:

Plans have been approved to build new changing rooms and decking at the site on Mill Lane in Sandhurst. 

The changing room building is set to be comprised of two areas with changing areas and showers. The clad with soft timber building will be a single storey with a pitched roof with a ridge height of 3.39 metres.

Horse Shoe Lake Country Park is a 50-acre site within the Blackwater Valley Area of Special Landscape Importance. The site is managed by Bracknell Forest Council as an activity centre with water sports, a visitors' centre and public rights of way crossing the site.  

Proposal for an end of life/care room at a veterinary centre (221007) 

Bracknell News:

A proposal has been submitted by David Planning Ltd on behalf of Mulberry House Vets in Wokingham. 

The plan outlines a conversion of an existing dog kennel to an end of life/care room and the erection of a single storey side/rear extension to form a replacement kennel.

The proposed ‘end of life/care room’ will provide dedicated space to put an animal to sleep, whilst a single storey extension is proposed to provide a replacement dog kennel. 

The site is located on the northern side of London Road and comprises of an existing veterinary surgery with a first floor residential flat above. 

Proposed development of a 56-bed care home (221114) 

Bracknell News:

Aspire LPP has submitted a planning application for the development of a care home at Woodside and Wayside House on Shinfield Road. 

The plan proposes the demolition of the existing two dwellings and the erection of a 56-bed care home for the elderly.

The site lies within the built-up area and adjacent to residential dwellings to the north south and east. It is currently in residential use. Neither of the dwellings on the site, nor any of those adjacent to the site, are statutorily listed, locally listed or identified as buildings of townscape merit. 

This submission follows the refusal of permission in December 2021 of an application for the provision of a 68-bed care home on the site.
