Residents of a retirement home in Crowthorne will be now able to have an alcoholic drink with family and friends from a restaurant where they live.
Earlier this year, retirement living company McCarthy & Stone applied to sell alcohol from 11am to 11pm at its retirement complex in Birch Place, Crowthorne.
The licensing application has been approved by the Public Protection Partnership (PPP) which manages licensing and other public protection matters in Bracknell Forest.
It now means residents can enjoy alcoholic drinks with their meals, and when they have family and friends coming to visit.

Birch Place, located in Duke’s Ride, contains 51 retirement apartments, with approval given to build the retirement home in 2016.
Its operators, McCarthy & Stone, has dozens of locations across the UK, including in Wokingham, Reading, Twyford and Maidenhead. It recently won permission to build a 34 room retirement home in Reading Road, Wokingham in June.
Birch Place is one of McCarthy & Stone’s ‘Retirement Living Plus’ complexes, which is exclusively for pensioners aged 70+.
Retirement Living Plus developments all come with enclosed living, 24-hour emergency-call service, maintained gardens and an on-site restaurant and bistro – which was the subject of the licensing application.
